KCR Misleading People On Corona: Vijayashanti

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s announcement that there is no question of imposing any lockdown in the state to contain the spread of Covid-19 as the situation is well under control in the state, has drawn a lot of criticism from the opposition parties.

Actress-turned-former MP and Bharatiya Janata Party leader M Vijayashanti on Friday lashed out at the chief minister for trying to mislead the people as the government has miserably failed to contain the spread of the virus.

“At a time when the cases have been on the rise, the chief minister thinks everything is fine. Many other states have gone in for short-term and long-term measures to prevent the spread of the virus, but our chief minister is taking it easy,” Vijayashanti said.

“Last year, the government came up with measures like functioning of offices and industries on alternate days, paddy procurement at the village level and staggered commercial activity. It can be done even this year,” Vijayashanti said.

She wondered how the chief minister and the chief secretary say that situation was under control at a time when there have been reports of lack of adequate number of hospital beds, lack of ventilators, oxygen supply and medicines.

“Even the high court pulled up the authorities for the inept handling of the situation,” Vijayashanti said.
