It is a known fact that the ‘friendly relations’ between Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Chinna Jeeyar Swamy have strained beyond repair, since the inauguration of Ramanujacharya statue last month.
KCR was angry with Jeeyar Swamy for removing his name from the plaque at the inauguration of the Ramanujacharya statue by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Muchintal Ashram. He did not attend the inaugural event and also the concluding ceremony.
And now the chief minister is learnt to have decided to go ahead with the inauguration of Yadradri temple without the involvement of Jeeyar Swamy.
But since he might incur criticism from various quarters for not involving Jeeyar, he is learnt to be instigating his party leaders to make allegations against the Swamy.
It is believed that the TRS is behind the surfacing of an old video on Jeeyar Swamy’s comments against Sammakka Saralamma jatara and the criticism by the TRS ranks against Jeeyar Swamy clearly establishes the same.
Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA from Pinapaka in Khammam district and government whip in the assembly Rega Kantha Rao made a scathing attack on Jeeyar Swamy for making comments against the tribal goddesses.
He called upon the party workers to burn the effigies of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. He demanded an unconditional apology from the seer for denigrating the tribal deities.
Several tribal organisations, apparently backed by the TRS, filed complaints to the police demanding arrest of Swamiji and book cases against him under SC/ST Act.
At Osmania University in Hyderabad, tribal students owing allegiance to the TRS burnt the effigy of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy on Thursday.
Raising slogans against him, they demanded that the seer be banished from the Telugu states.
