Ever since Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and chief minister K Chandraskhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha was elected to the state legislative council from the local bodies’ constituency in Nizamabad last month, there has been a talk that she would be inducted into the state cabinet.
Though she has been brushing it aside without directly denying the same, the talk of her entry into the cabinet of her father has been doing rounds for quite some time.
It was also rumoured that the allegations of sexcapades against civil supplies minister Gangula Kamalakar were only to make him quit to pave way for her entry into the cabinet.
On Wednesday, Kavitha gave an indirect hint that she might get into the state cabinet soon. During an informal chat with reporters at Karimnagar, she hinted that there is such a possibility in the New Year.
Asked whether she would be joining the Telangana cabinet in the New Year, Kavitha smilingly posed a counter question: “There is still a long time for Telugu New Year Ugadi. Do you want me to wait till then?”
When asked whether the cabinet expansion would be done before Sankranti, Kavitha gave a thumbs-up. It sent clear signals to the media that she might take up the cabinet post in less than two months!
