Director Nag Ashwin confirmed that work on "Kalki 2898 AD Part 2" will begin soon, but refused to reveal a possible release date.
He intends to make the second installment even grander, with lavish visuals and more screen time for the lead hero Prabhas.
"We've only shot 20% of the second part so far. The remaining 80% needs to start over," he added.
This means it will take at least another two or three years to be released. The second part will cover Kalki's birth, Karna's episodes, Kamal Haasan's backstory, and more.
The script for the second installment is complete, but filming and visual effects will take a long time.
People have complained about a lack of catchy songs. So he might work on that front in the second half.
