Former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation and retired IPS officer V V Lakshminarayana is all set to bid good bye to Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan.
Popularly known as JD, Lakshminarayana, who joined the Jana Sena Party just before the general elections, is understood to have conveyed to Pawan Kalyan that he would be quitting the party and decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party shortly.
Along with JD, his close associate Gampala Giridhar will also call it quits from Jana Sena and join the BJP.
While JD contested as Jana Sena candidate from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency, Giridhar contested as party candidate from Visakhapatnam (South) assembly constituency. Both of them lost the elections miserably.
Subsequently, JD and Giridhar have been staying away from the party activities.
In fact, JD’s name did not figure in any of the state-level committees appointed by Pawan recently including the politburo and political affairs committee, though he was considered a very important leader of the party before the elections.
For quite some time, JD has been continuing his social service activities and not involved in any party meetings.
Now, sources said JD has got an invitation from the BJP and he has readily agreed to join the party.
In fact, there was a talk that he would join the BJP much before the last elections since he had connections with Sangh Parivar during his college days. Finally, he returned to his basics!
