Jagan's One-Year Celebrations On Low Key?

In another two weeks, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will be completing one year in power.

Normally, it is an achievement for celebrations for any new government. Jagan, too, would have had grand celebrations to highlight the achievements of his government in the last one year. And the preparations should have begun by now.

But, till date, there is no such discussion in the government or in the party and in all probability, the celebrations would be on a low key, thanks to Coronavirus effect all over the state that has claimed 49 lives so far and many districts are still reeling under its impact.

So, the chief minister is understood to have asked the officials and party leaders not to celebrate in a big way.

However, there might be some programmes on behalf of the party, who would take up a programme all over the state to highlight the achievements of the government, within the guidelines of lockdown.

From the government side, the department of culture has released a GO, releasing Rs 5 lakhs to a cultural organisation to propagate the programmes launched by Jagan government in the last one year in the name of “Jagan Anna, Jayaho Jaitra Yatra.”

Other than that, there are no other programmes planned till now.

May be, there would be a couple of programmes more if the Centre relaxes lockdown norms further.
