Jagan Wooing Top Kamma Leaders?

It appears YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is systematically eroding the base of Telugu Desam Party in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts by luring influential Kamma leaders into his party.

While Jagan successfully roped in Daggubati Venkateshwara Rao, son-in-law of TDP founder N T Rama Rao, in Prakasam district, he attracted industrialist and Kamma leader Dasari Jai Ramesh in Krishna district.

Another prominent Kamma leader from Krishna district and former home minister Vasantha Nageshwar Rao has already joined the YSRC along with his son Krishna Prasad.

Now, the latest report is that former Union minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kavuri Sambasiva Rao is also getting ready to join the YSRC in a day or two. Readmore!

Though he hails from Machilipatnam in Krishna district, he is expected to be given the party ticket for Eluru MP seat.

Kavuri, who has been maintaining low profile, is understood to have met Jagan twice in the recent times. YSRC MP V Vijai Sai Reddy is said to be in touch with Kavuri to bring him into the party.

If reports are to be believed, TDP MLAs Vallabhaneni Vamsi might also take a plunge into the YSRC, while in Guntur district Makineni Peda Rathaiah is also expected to stage a comeback in to the YSRC.

If everything works out, popular actor-director-producer M Mohan Babu would also soon join the YSRC.

Already, popular hero Junior NTR’s father-in-law Narne Srinivasa Rao created ripples in the political circles by meeting Jagan on Monday and discussing the politics.

So, if Jagan can create a split in the Kamma vote bank, it will be a big trouble for TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu!
