Jagan to shift camp office to Vizag on May 6

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is learnt to have decided to operate from his new camp office in Visakhapatnam with effect from May 6, come what may.

According to highly placed sources, Jagan is learnt to have told the officials that he had already got the Muhurtam confirmed and there was no question of going back on that.

Apparently, the muhurtham was finalised after Jagan’s recent meeting with Swamy Swaroopanandendra of Visakha Sarada Peetham.

Sources said Jagan categorically told the officials that though the courts might take their own time on the three capitals issue, he had decided to shift his camp office to Visakhapatnam at any cost. Readmore!

“Technically, the capital continues to be Amaravati till the courts take a decision, but that would not stop me from working from Visakhapatnam. A chief minister can work from anywhere in the state and wherever the CM operates from, the administration would also operate from the same place,” he reportedly told them.

Jagan threw the responsibility on the officials to handle the legal issues in shifting his camp office to Visakhapatnam.

“Let the Secretariat be in Amaravati till the courts – whether it is high court or Supreme Court – give their final judgement. But after May 6, no officer should go to Secretariat and everybody should be available in Visakhapatnam,” he directed.

He asked the authorities to decide on their offices in Vizag from where they should function from May 6. All the employees should move to Visakhapatnam and all arrangements have to be made for their stay, schooling and college studies for their children and other facilities.

“Under any circumstances, there should not be any dissatisfaction among the employees due to shifting to Visakhapatnam,” Jagan reportedly said.
