Jagan to meet Modi to strengthen ties!

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah on August 6.

The meetings assume significance in the wake of strained relations between the BJP and the YSRC in the recent past, as was evident from the aggressive attacks being made by the BJP leaders on Jagan and his government of late.

According to party sources, Jagan, who will be going to Israel on Thursday along with his family, would return to Vijayawada on August 4. Soon after his return, he would leave for New Delhi on a two-day tour on August 6 and 7.

“He will meet the Prime Minister on August 6 and discuss all the pending issues and the problems that are faced by the state, besides seeking liberal financial assistance to the state,” party sources said. Readmore!

Jagan will also meet Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Home Minister Amit Shah during his two-day tour.

He is also contemplating meeting President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu during the visit.

It is likely that Jagan would make efforts to bridge the widening gap between the two parties. Though YSRC might not join the NDA, it will definitely not adopt a confrontational approach towards the BJP, sources said.
