“It is a fact that the chief minister has got an invitation from the Prime Minister to join the NDA government. But Jagan has raised certain issues and if they are resolved, the YSRC would be part of the NDA,” sources said.

However, it would take a few more weeks for the YSRC’s entry into the NDA.

“Most probably, it might happen only after Bihar elections, when the Centre might come up with certain package for Andhra Pradesh or take a call on the special category status,” sources said.

Last Tuesday, Jagan had a 40-minute meeting with Modi, where he reportedly discussed the latest political developments in the state and also the issue of YSRC joining the NDA might have come up during the talks.
