Jagan stalls spending of money on Tadepalli house!

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is learnt to have withdrawn the orders releasing money for sprucing up his residence at Tadepalli in Guntur district to avoid unnecessary criticism.

According to sources, Jagan is learnt to have directed the department of roads and buildings to cancel the allocation of funds for making certain changes in his residence including purchase of furniture, erection of aluminium partitions and construction of toilets etc.

In all, the Jagan government ordered withdrawal of five GOs, releasing Rs 3.10 crore for taking up various works at his Tadepalli residence and Lotus Pond house in Hyderabad, such as security installations, temporary arrangements and purchase of furniture.

The Telugu Desam Party made a lot of noise over spending of nearly Rs 15.65 crore for various works at Jagan’s Tadepalli house.

However, out of this amount, over Rs 5.5 crore was spent only on improving road facility to his bungalow which would be beneficial even to the local villagers.

Similarly, the department spent a few lakhs of rupees for creating helipad adjacent to Jagan’s residence, which is essential for his travel purposes.

The bungalow at Tadepalli is Jagan’s personal residence but after he became the chief minister, it had been converted into the official bungalow and camp office.

Therefore, it required some modifications by the government owing to security reasons, sources said.
