Jagan gives Rs 50L ex-gratia to martyred soldier family

Andhra Pradesh government has released an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh as relief to the family of C. H. Praveen Kumar Reddy, martyred soldier from Chittoor district in Jammu and Kashmir while fighting terrorists at the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara on Sunday.

"The entire country is proud of Praveen Kumar Reddy's sacrifice. His sacrifice is priceless and his absence cannot be filled. Amid this sorrow, as relief to your family, Rs 50 lakh has been granted," wrote Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to the martyr's wife Rajitha.

The CM offered his heartfelt condolences to the members of the soldier's family and prayed to God to give them strength.

Praveen Kumar Reddy hails from Reddivaripalle in Irala mandal of Chittoor district and joined the Indian Army 18 years ago in the Madras Regiment-18. Readmore!

He was martyred while guarding the Machil sector in J&K.

Ministers and legislators visited the soldier's home in Chittoor to pay respects.

Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan has also condoled the death of the army jawan. He expressed his profound grief and sadness over the incident.

Harichandan prayed for the departed soul of the soldier and offered his condolences to the bereaved family.
