Jagan filled up 6 lakh vacancies in 2 years?

The Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh has claimed to have filled up six lakh vacancies in various government wings in the state in the last two years of its rule in the state.

On Friday, the chief minister released a calendar of recruitment of 10,143 vacant posts in various government departments in the state in the next one year. 

“This is going to be an unprecedented exercise which no state government has ever done,” Jagan said.

According to an official release, the Jagan government has provided jobs to 6,03,755 unemployed youth in the last two years.

Out of 6,03,755 jobs, regular posts were 1,84,264, jobs on contract basis were 19,701 and jobs provided through out sourcing were 3,99, 791.

In the next one year, as many as 10,143 vacant posts in various departments will be filled. 

The notification to fill 1,238 backlog SC, ST and DA posts will be released in July. 

Notification for another 36 posts in APPSC Group 1&2 category would be issued in August.

Similarly, another notification for 450 police jobs in September, for 451 posts in health (doctors and assistant professors) in October, 5251 jobs in health (para medical, lab technicians and  pharmacists) in November and 441 nurse jobs in December.

In January 2022, there would be notification for recruitment of 240 lecturer posts in degree colleges, for 2,000 posts as assistant professors in universities in February 2022 and 36 posts in other departments will be filled in March 2022.
