The other day, there were reports that YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has pulled up his cabinet colleagues who have not been effectively countering the allegations and attacks from the opposition Telugu Desam Party leaders.
During the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, Jagan reportedly shouted at some of the ministers for keeping silent when the opposition was going hammer and tongs at his government.
He reportedly hinted that he might have to drop some of them, if they don’t mend their ways.
“Pull up your socks or face the music,” was the message he had reportedly given to his cabinet ministers.
Not just cabinet colleagues, the message was also aimed at several other YSRC leaders who are enjoying the benefits of power, but are not effectively countering the TDP campaign.
“Why are you not reacting sharply to the Opposition and its friendly media’s scathing attack on the welfare schemes and development works pertaining to your departments?” Jagan reportedly asked.
He said there was no response from the party leaders even when the TDP and its friendly media were dragging his family members into the scams, particularly the Delhi liquor scam.
Interestingly, many of these YSRC leaders are focussing on making big money taking advantage of Jagan being in power, rather than countering the TDP campaign. They never address press conferences and issue any statements.
Some of them are in high positions and others are posted in key positions, which are supposed to be involved in government programmes. Yet, they are hardly seen and heard in the media.
“It is only those who are ignored by Jagan and are not enjoying any positions are actively campaigning for the party and attacking the TDP on the social media. They are genuine and loyal to the party, but their services are not acknowledged,” a party source said.
