It's Y S Jagan After Indira Gandhi

Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's open battle with the judiciary is in fact turning the eyes of the entire nation. Some are digging into the history to know if any head of the state has earlier fought in these lines.

It was in 1967, when the first ever attack by the head of a government openly on the judiciary took place.

When Kota Subba Rao the CJI then gave a judgement that the Constitution cannot be amended, Indira challenged that and eventually Justice Subba Rao had to resign. Eventually he contested for the Presidential Elections but lost.  Readmore!

Again in 1971 Indira challenged the judiciary in the issue of nationalization of private banks. But she never took the names of any judges at that time but fought with the judiciary in general.

Now YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has named the judges including a Supreme Court Judge and five HC judges, totalling to six.

We have to see how far it goes and where it ends.
