It was 10 lakh, not 10 cr, says Konda

The reports that a close follower of Congress candidate from Chevella parliamentary constituency Konda Vishweshwar Reddy was caught by the police with Rs 10 crore aimed at distributing among the voters kicked up a storm in the media circles on Wednesday.

While there was no open statement from public, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi activists spread the news in the social media, creating suspicion about Konda, who is waging a bitter battle with the TRS in Chevella parliamentary constituency.

Later, Konda had to give a detailed clarification. He alleged that his opponents had been indulging in malicious propaganda against him following the arrest of a youth with Rs 10 lakh, intended to distribute to voters.

Visweswar Reddy said that he had already met CEO Rajath Kumar on this issue and filed a complaint as well. Readmore!

Reddy criticised that the opposition was trying to defame him now as they know that he would win with a huge majority in the Lok Sabha elections.

Senior Congress leader Dasoju Sravan said that Visweswar Reddy's win was certain and therefore, the TRS leaders with the help of the police were spreading false news as they have seized Rs. 10 crore instead of Rs. 10 lakhs from an aide of Visweswar Reddy.

"They are trying to defame Congress candidates," added Sravan. He dared police that he will rub his nose on the ground if they proved that Rs 10 crore was seized and demanded to suspend the police officer in case of failure.
