He said that the TDP had completely neglected the Telugu Academy during its regime.

The Minister said that it was Telugu Academy and not Telugu Desam Academy for the TDP leaders to make hue and cry.

Stating that Sanskrit is the basis of every Indian language, Suresh asserted that its inclusion would help in further strengthening the Telugu language.

The Minister emphasised the need to encourage research in the Telugu language and promote new writers, which would help if Sanskrit also included.

He said that the issue was discussed in the Cabinet meeting at length and the merger was finalised.

The Minister said that the TDP leaders have no right to speak about Telugu Academy as they have not even appointed chairman for it during the TDP regime, particularly during Chandrababu Naidu’s regime.
