Is Rajamouli Supporting Hyped Numbers?

The hype has gone. After the first weekend, “RRR” is running in theaters with a decent occupancy in some places, low occupancy in others. In a nutshell, “RRR” has seen a drop, and it is not a “Baahubali 2”.

Rajamouli’s previous blockbuster “Baahubali 2” continued the same hype and higher occupancy for more than two weeks, and its box-office performance was uniformly the same in all regions – North India, South India, Telugu states, and the USA. Precisely for this reason, “Baahubali 2” set mammoth records.

In the case of “RRR”, the film has been posting good numbers only in the USA. In the remaining areas, it is a mixed result. But the team has resorted to gimmicks to sustain the hype around collections even after the first weekend. The reality is different.

In Nizam, the film collected about Rs 45 crore so far. But they have added 10 crores to hype it. The film needs a further 25 to 28 crores to reach the stage of break-even. Readmore!

The picture is no different in Andhra and Ceded regions. The hyped numbers are being promoted clandestinely.

At the time of “Magadheera”, Rajamouli openly said he was dead against putting out collections and hyping the numbers. But now, the same team is hyping the collections.
