Is KCR worried over Prabhas's 'Adipurush'?

Prabhas-starrer "Adipurush," one of the most anticipated films of 2023, is set to hit the screens in just ten days on June 16.

However, "Adipurush" seems to be causing anxious moments for the ruling BRS party in Telangana. The film's release date has sparked rumors and speculation in Telangana politics.

There are speculations within BRS circles that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his son K T Rama Rao are concerned about the potential "political impact" of "Adipurush" on Telangana politics, especially with the crucial Assembly polls just six months away.

Reportedly, KTR has been expressing to his party leaders and MLAs that "Adipurush" was created to benefit the BJP in the upcoming Assembly polls in Telangana scheduled for November/December this year, as well as the Lok Sabha polls across the country scheduled for April/May 2024. Readmore!

Even KCR himself is said to have discussed "Adipurush" with a few close confidants, expressing his views on how the movie was made to serve the BJP's political interests in the upcoming polls.

KCR has allegedly pointed out how films like "URI," "The Kashmir Files," and "The Kerala Story" were made to benefit the BJP and how the party gained politically in states where Assembly polls were held after these films were released.

KCR and KTR are reportedly more concerned about the statement made by the makers of "Adipurush" that they will 'reserve' one seat in every show, in every theater, for Lord Hanuman, with the belief that Lord Hanuman will watch the movie. This single ticket will not be sold and will be kept vacant, as the makers have stated.

KCR and KTR reportedly feel that "Adipurush" could help the BJP spread its propaganda among the devotees of Lord Sri Ram and Lord Hanuman in Telangana, potentially resulting in the polarization of Hindu votes in favor of the BJP.

It remains to be seen how the KCR government will react to the release of "Adipurush." There is ongoing debate in political circles regarding whether the BRS government will grant "tax-free status" to "Adipurush" in Telangana, unlike a few BJP-ruled states that have made this decision.
