Is it a mega support or just a donation?

In an interesting development that triggered whispers in the political and film circles, megastar Chiranjeevi on Monday donated Rs 5 crore to the Jana Sena Party headed by his younger brother Pawan Kalyan, ahead of the assembly and general elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Pawan Kalyan, whose Jana Sena Party is in alliance with the Telugu Desam Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party in the May 13 assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, met his elder brother at a film shooting location at Pochampally on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

Chiranjeevi was in a shooting for his upcoming film Vishwambhara. Another mega brother Nagababu also accompanied Pawan Kalyan to the shooting spot.

Soon after reaching the spot, Pawan Kalyan touched Chiranjeevi’s feet to take his blessings and the mega brother hugged him and all the three had a hearty chat over the ongoing political developments. Readmore!

In a press note later, Jana Sena Party office stated that on the occasion, Chiranjeevi handed over a Rs 5 crore check to the Pawan Kalyan for party donation to conduct elections.

Pawan Kalyan sought his elder brother’s blessings, as Jana Sena completed 10 years of its formation. Chiranjeevi reportedly assured that his moral support would always be there for Pawan Kalyan at this crucial time.

This led to the speculation as to whether Chiranjeevi would openly extend support to Jana Sena Party and give any call to the people to vote for Pawan Kalyan and the alliance.

But the megastar later commented on X that he was extremely happy with the way Pawan Kalyan is spending his hard-earned money for the sake of agriculture labourers, though he had no power.

“Most of the leaders say that they would come to the rescue of the people if they are voted to power, But my brother has a kind-hearted gentleman, who is spending his own money for the good of the society. So, I contributed my donation to Jana Sena Party so that it would help Pawan Kalyan achieve his goal,” Chiranjeevi said.
