Is BJP Showing Door To Purandheswari?

The BJP's national leadership is reportedly considering removing former Union Minister Daggubati Purandheswari from her position as the AP BJP president.

She was appointed to the post in July this year, alongside Union Minister G Kishan Reddy for Telangana.

While Kishan Reddy is actively working in line with the party in Telangana, battling against the ruling BRS and the opposition Congress, it is believed that Purandheswari has been leaning more towards the TDP than the BJP since her appointment.

Her strong affinity for the TDP has been a cause for concern among many BJP leaders in the state. This inclination became even more apparent when Chandrababu Naidu was arrested. Readmore!

Purandheswari's open support for the TDP, including endorsing their bandh call against Naidu's arrest, without consulting any BJP leaders, raised eyebrows within the party.

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy publicly stated that many BJP leaders, including Purandheswari, belong to the TDP, a statement that went unchallenged by the BJP leaders.

It is rumored that not many state BJP leaders are supporting her within the party.

She has been consistently trying to impress her brother-in-law, Chandrababu Naidu, by openly expressing her loyalty to the TDP chief. During her meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, she reportedly criticized the AP liquor policy and demanded a CBI inquiry.

Given these circumstances, the BJP's national leadership is said to be contemplating removing Purandheswari from her position.

The timeline for this decision remains uncertain, but it is anticipated that she might be removed from the party chief post soon.
