There is intense speculation about whether former Bheemili MLA and ex-minister Avanti Srinivas Rao from YSRCP is considering a move towards the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Avanti has been conspicuously absent from YSRCP's review meetings and has kept a low profile for the past month and a half. He appears to be distancing himself from the party's activities.
Following his significant defeat in Bheemili, Avanti is said to be politically demoralized.
He has business interests in education that need support, prompting speculation that he might be leaning towards the ruling TDP.
Despite TDP's criticisms of the Rishikonda Palace in his constituency, Avanti has not defended it.
Additionally, he has refrained from criticizing the ongoing excavations of red sand dunes in his constituency, which are allegedly backed by the ruling party. This has fueled rumors that he might be interested in joining TDP.
However, the TDP already has Ganta Srinivasa Rao as its MLA for Bheemili, and he has a contentious history with Avanti.
Sources suggest that even if Avanti tries to join TDP, Ganta might block his entry. At the same time, there are reports that the TDP leadership's trust in Ganta is waning compared to the past, giving Avanti new hope.
We will have to wait and see how the situation unfolds.
