India's recalled High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Verma, voiced his concerns about the hardships faced by Indian students in Canada, highlighting issues related to their living conditions and academic experience.

During his comments, Verma revealed that many students are living in overcrowded accommodations, with as many as eight students sharing a single room.

Despite their aspirations for higher education, many end up working as daily wage laborers in stores, or taking on roles as cab drivers, among other odd jobs, to make ends meet.

This situation reflects a significant gap between the expectations Indian students have when they move to Canada for better educational and professional opportunities, and the harsh realities they encounter in terms of living standards and employment options.

Verma’s comments have drawn attention to the growing challenges faced by Indian students abroad, raising questions about the quality of educational institutions and the overall well-being of international students in Canada.
