Indian 2: A game changer for Shankar

Following the success of RRR, Ram Charan gave the green signal to director Shankar for Game Changer.

Prior to that, producer of Game Changer Dil Raju had announced Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan at a glittering event in Chennai but for some reason, he backed out later, apparently uncomfortable about the scale of the film.

Lyca Productions then came forward to complete the film but it was stalled after a major part of the shooting was completed owing to the escalated budget.

Shankar then signed Game Changer with Dil Raju as producer. Readmore!

In the meantime, unexpectedly, Kamal Haasan scored an unexpected hit in the form of Vikram Hitlist reviving his market.

Lyca Productions decided to complete Indian 2 with the support of another producer Udayanidhi Stalin.

Jumping at this opportunity, Shankar devoted his entire energy to completing Indian 2 only allotting dates for Game Changer when he had the time.

This delay naturally increased the budget for Game Changer as well by a huge amount resulting in Dil Raju selling his entire stake in the movie to Zee Studios. Finally, Game Changer was completed nearly three years after it started.

Now, Indian 2 that released recently has turned out to be a disaster and unfortunately for Shankar, the biggest flop of his career although not for Kamal Haasan.

Game Changer is the next film for release and the performance of Indian 2 will definitely have an impact on the business of this film.

The movie because of Ram Charan’s stardom will definitely have huge openings in the Telugu States but Pan-India is an altogether different proposition now.
