Jagan Assures Free Power To SC, ST Houses

Vempalli (YSR Kadapa dist): Announcing a string of sops on his second day of Praja Sankalpa Yatra, YSR Congress Party President and Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that the plight of the people would soon come to an end and the welfare state will see light of the day again.

Speaking at the first Rachabanda interactive session here on Tuesday, he said that his government would provide free power to SC, ST houses besides hiking the pension amount up to Rs 3,000 and take up housing on a massive scale to ensure that no one would be left out and would fill up the 1.40 lakh vacancies at the earliest.

He was responding to the people’s woes due to the indifference of the TDP government and said that the Steel Plant would come up in the district within three years of coming to power and provide 10,000 jobs to improve the living standards of the locals.

Replying to the anguish of the people, he said, the Party manifesto would e very simple spread over just two pages unlike the hefty TDP manifesto which lost its meaning after Chandrababu Naidu coming to power and failing to implement even a single promise he made. More surprisingly the copies of the manifesto are not available anywhere and are pulled out of the public domain as well, he said.

Before Chandrababu Naidu came to power there was no need for the weaker sections to pay power bills as they were exempted but after he took over, the bills are coming in four figures. We will bring a turnaround and provide free power to SC and ST colonies, he said amidst cheers.

After Chandrababu Naidu came to power, till now not a single house was built here but our government will ensure that all weaker sections would get houses and there would be no person who would say that they do not have a house.  At every mandal headquarter, one old age house with medical facilities would be set up, he said.

While everyone was getting pension during YSR term, now the disbursement has been erratic and I ensure that pension would be given to all old aged people and it will be increased to Rs 2,000 or even Rs 3,000.

When NTR said that he would provide Rs 2 kg rice the Congress has promised one kg rice for Rs 1.90 but people did not believe the latter. If Chandrababu Naidu promises to pay Rs 2,000 pension, it is good if the old people gets the amount but our government will pay more, he said.

The Steel Plant to the district assured during the State Reorganisation would take shape immediately by foundation stone laying after coming to power and it will be completed in three years providing jobs to over 10,000 people and assured that fees reimbursement would be implemented in the true spirit and will ensure that professional courses come within the reach of the poor.

He also assured that seven hour power would be provided to farmers during day time and said that local issues would be taken up by Party leaders, even if needs legal intervention.
