High stakes battle in Munugode: Edge for TRS?

The by-election to Munugode assembly seat in Telangana’s Nalgonda district scheduled to be held on November 3 has turned out to be a high-stakes’ battle for all the three major political parties in the state – the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress.

With all the three parties are putting up all efforts to win the seat, it has become increasingly difficult for various agencies involved in pre-election surveys to know the pulse of the people.

Some agencies have found that the TRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy might win the seat, albeit with a slender margin, some others have predicted that Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy of the Bharatiya Janata Party will win the by-election hands down.

Very few people think Congress candidate Palwai Sravanthi may spring a surprise in the by-election, but it appears she has already given up her hopes, as she cannot match the other two candidates both in money and muscle powers. Readmore!

A latest survey conducted by a relatively new pre-poll survey organisation Vipanchika has revealed that the TRS would win the Munugode by-election with a vote share of 43.02 percent, closely followed by the BJP which will get 36.46 percent.

The Congress will get 16.58 percent, while the BSP will end up with 1.98 percent.

An independent survey conducted by the TRS revealed that it will win the seat comfortably with a big margin. Surprisingly, it has predicted that the Congress would be in the second position and the BJP will be in the third position. Rajagopal will lose the polls with a big margin, it predicted.

However, field reports indicate that it is a tough battle between the TRS and the BJP; and whoever will win, it will be with a very narrow margin.
