Even as the speculation over Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president and state IT minister K T Rama Rao being anointed as the next chief minister of Telangana is still doing rounds, yet another speculation surfaced in the social media.
According to these latest rumours, TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to revamp the entire party and as part of the exercise, he is likely to entrust key responsibility of the party activities to his nephew and finance minister T Harish Rao.
Sources say KCR has not been keeping good health of late and that was precisely the reason for not visible in the administrative activities these days. So, the chances of KCR stepping down to make his son K T Rama Rao as the chief minister are bright.
Lending credence to these speculations, senior TRS MLA Redya Naik said on Thursday that KTR is likely to take over as the chief minister before March end. Surprisingly, there was no denial from the party leadership over his statement.
If that happens, KTR will relinquish his working president post and he might be replaced by Harish Rao, who is likely to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading the party from the front in the next elections.
If possible, KCR is also likely to create another working president post and give it to another senior minister Eatala Rajender.
Apparently, this is to prevent a revolt from Harish Rao and his followers if KTR is made the chief minister.
KCR’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha would also be given some key responsibility in the party to have a balance of power in the party, sources said.
Let us watch out for more developments in March!
