The YSR Congress government in Andhra Pradesh led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is yet to take an official decision on the formation of three capital cities for the state, but his cabinet colleagues have already started promoting Visakhapatnam as the future capital.
Ministers like Avanti Srinivas and Mekapati Gautam Reddy have been openly announcing that Visakhapatnam is going to be the executive capital and declaring it as an ideal investment destination.
In fact, Gautam Reddy made the big announcement in Hyderabad on Thursday itself, stating that the announcement of Visakhapatnam as the executive capital was a turning point in the state’s industrial sector.
“It is going to be the next great city in the country for industrial development and will be an incubation centre for budding industries,” he declared.
“Visakhapatnam was a feasible region for all kinds of development, but has been neglected in the past five years. We are going to develop it as a major development hub. And there is no compromise on the chief minister’s words,” he said.
With the latest announcement by the chief minister, the minister is expecting that huge investment would come up in Visakhapatnam. He said entrepreneurs from Vijayawada, Tirupati and Guntur are keen on investing in Visakhapatnam.
