GHMC Poll Outcome, A Big Setback For KTR

The outcome of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections was definitely a rude shock to Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president and state IT minister K T Rama Rao, who led the party campaign from the front.

In all the interviews, he had been telling the media that the TRS would comfortably win the GHMC elections and capture the Mayor and deputy mayor post without the help of any other party (read: MIM). In fact, he said the TRS would cross the 100-figure mark.

However, the results were thoroughly disappointing for him and also considered to be a setback for him, as he has been aspiring to be in the chief minister’s chair if the TRS wins 100 seats again,

A disappointed KTR said the results were definitely not to the expectations of the party, which should have won at least another 20-25 seats. He reminded that all the exit polls had predicted a comfortable majority to the TRS. Readmore!

He pointed out that the TRS had lost 10-12 seats with a very meagre margin of less than 100-150 votes and another 10 seats with less than 300 votes.

“We should have won these seats,” he said.

KTR thanked the people for making the TRS as the single largest party.

“We shall review the results in our internal meetings and take appropriate measures,” he said.
