Noose is tightening around Telugu Desam Party official spokesperson Panchumarthi Anuradha for enacting a drama to malign YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy stating that ganja mafia was thriving right behind his official residence at Tadepalli in Guntur district.
The Guntur police on Tuesday took into custody the woman from Tadepalli whose video was circulated by the TDP leaders to sling mud at Jagan.
In the video, the woman was seen complaining that her son had become a victim of ganja addiction. She alleged that Tadepalli had become a haven for indiscriminate ganja sale and innocent children and youngsters were falling prey to this ganja mafia.
“The chief minister’s residence is hardly a few yards away from this place, where ganja is easily available. I don’t know what the authorities are doing. If this continues, I have no option but to commit suicide,” the woman said in the video.
When the police question her, the woman revealed that her younger son had become a victim of bad habits and when she was explaining her woes to others, TDP leader Anuradha came to her and convinced her to make a statement saying there was ganja trade thriving in Tadepalli.
“I did not know what I was saying. I just repeated what Anuradha had told me,” she told the police.
Based on her statement, the police are getting prepared to arrest Anuradha and book a case against her for damaging Jagan’s reputation.
The chief minister, who is learnt to have given the green signal to prosecute Anuradha, also instructed the authorities to take seriously if there is really ganja trade in and around Tadepalli area, sources said.
