People’s poet Gaddar, once a revolutionary singer who inspired several youth to take to arms and fight against the government from forests, has now turned a typical activist supporting the Congress party.
On Wednesday, Gaddar came to the residence of Malkajgiri MP and Pradesh Congress Committee working president A Revanth Reddy and extended support to his campaign in the elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Complimenting the efforts being made by Revanth, the balladeer sang a song written by him on the PCC working president, wishing him all the best in his future endeavours.
“Revanth Reddy is a vociferous leader. One has to give life to the voice that questions the autocratic government,” Gaddar said.
The singer said politics is like a Padma Vyuham of Mahabharata war.
“One has to have a lot of courage and daringness to enter politics and come out cleverly by achieving success,” the singer said.
Revanth thanked Gaddar for extending support to the Congress party.
“All through his life, Gaddaranna stood by the cause of the people. I am glad he is on the right side in the GHMC elections,” he said.
The PCC working president said it was dangerous to democracy to give brute majority to any political party and it would lead to autocracy.
“People should also strengthen the voice of the opposition,” he said.
Revanth said the people should give at least 25-30 seats to the Congress party in the GHMC elections, if not Mayor post.
“We shall put up a strong voice from the opposition side in the elected bodies,” he said.
