Formula-E case: KTR too eager to get arrested?

It appears Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president and former Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao is too eager to get arrested by the police in connection with the alleged irregularities in Formula-E car race scam.

KTR, who was questioned by the ACB authorities, was said to be impatient when they were questioning him in the case. Sources said repeatedly questioned the officials when he is going to get arrested.

He reportedly asked them, whether this entire so-called investigation was not just a formality.

“It's certain you will arrest me, isn't it?" he asked. Readmore!

KTR also sought to know whether the ACB authorities were planning to arrest him today itself, so as to deny him the enjoyment on Sankranti holidays.

"Will you arrest me today, given that it’s a festival holiday?" he asked them.

However, the ACB authorities did not react to KTR’s probing enquiries. At around 5 pm, they quietly told him to go home, which stumped him.

Apparently, KTR thought he would get arrested today; accordingly, he asked the party leaders to get ready to take up state-wide agitations.

Speaking to reporters after the questioning, KTR said he had fully cooperated with the ACB authorities in the investigation.

“I answered all the questions to the best of my knowledge. I assured them I would appear whenever summoned, no matter how many times,” he said.

Describing it as a baseless case, KTR said he had asked the ACB officials whether they were doing it under political pressure.

“This case is completely irrelevant. They asked the same four or five questions in 40 different ways —there was nothing new in the questioning,” he said.
