Former Congress party MP from Amalapuram G V Harsha Kumar has been at virtual political crossroads after making somersaults from one party to the other. He is now looking for political rehabilitation again.
Harsha Kumar, who is presently in the Congress party, sent his son G V Sri Raj into the Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday.
Sri Raj met party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and spent nearly two hours with him discussing various issues.
Sri Raj took to social media confirming his meeting with Naidu, saying he was very much delighted after meeting the TDP chief.
He had also recalled how Naidu had taken steps to prevent any untoward incidents in the padayatras of former CM Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and his son Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and complimented the TDP chief for the same.
There is a talk that Sri Raj is going to join the TDP soon, as part of Naidu’s call to the youth to strengthen the party. He might be fielded from Gannavaram assembly constituency on the TDP ticket.
Interestingly, YSRC leader and MP Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose had earlier a secret meeting with Harsha Kumar at the latter’s residence. This led to the talk that the YSRC leadership might have invited Harsh Kumar into the YSRC.
But now it is evident that Harsha Kumar is aiming at joining the TDP. Though he had been with the TDP for some time a few years ago, he quit the party after he was denied the party ticket in the last elections.
Later, he returned to the Congress. But he recently rejected the party post offered to him by the high command, leading to the speculation that he might return to the TDP again.
Now that his son is joining the TDP, the ex-MP also may follow the suit soon, sources added.
