Ex-intelligence chief is a traitor, alleges YSRC

YSR Congress party on Monday described senior IPS officer and former state intelligence chief AB Venkateswara Rao as a traitor and demanded that the central government issue a look-out notice for Rao in the wake of reports that there are chances of his escape from the country.

YSRC MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy said Rao was a corrupt official pampered by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

“He had bought many lands in Telangana with ill-gotten money. One Gattamaneni Srinivas is a Benami for Rao,” he said.

Chevireddy pointed out that the IPS officer owns 53.07 acres of land in Jadcherla, 57.59 acres in Pasuvula village, 64.20 acres in Chityala village. Readmore!

“Moreover, he has taken about Rs 67 lakh through the Rythu Bandhu scheme for these lands. Apart from these, he owns 100 acres of land in Bengaluru,” he said.

The MLA said the state government had suspended Rao for the act of treason. Now, Rao has got time to take care of his illegally earned properties.

“Rao is a big whale in corruption and there are chances for national security breach with such officers,” he alleged.

He requested that the Central government seriously consider the issue and conduct a detailed enquiry on Rao’s irregularities. Not only on Rao, but enquiry should also be conducted into his Benami G Srinivas and expose all the irregularities.
