End Of Road For Rajagopal Reddy In Cong?

It looks like days are numbered for former MP and presently MLC from Nalgonda Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy in the Congress party and he is going to pay the penalty for losing tongue over the party leadership.

Though Rajagopal Reddy sent a three-page explanation to the party for his abusive comments against the PCC and AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs R C Khuntia, the party’s disciplinary committee was not satisfied with his explanation.

The committee sent a fresh show-cause notice to him and gave time till Tuesday evening to give explanation in a proper manner, failing which action would be initiated against him as per the Congress party constitution.

It clearly showed that the Congress high command took serious note of Rajagopal’s attitude. A party leader pointed out that Rajagopal Reddy was nobody till 2009 elections.

“He did not come up from grassroots level. He worked neither in the Youth Congress nor the PCC earlier. He straightaway became an MP because of his brother Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

Though he lost the Bhongir MP seat in 2014, the party fielded him as an MLC and got him elected. He cannot take the party for granted and make abusive comments against seniors,” a party leader said.

Newly-appointed TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar wondered whom Rajagopal Reddy was referring to as “brokers” and “jokers” in the TPCC.

“Let him name them, instead of making a blanket comment,” he said.

If the disciplinary committee recommends his suspension, Rajagopal Reddy might approach Rahul Gandhi directly, before deciding on his future course of action, say sources close to him.
