Eighty-seven-year-old Cherukuri Ramoji Rao of Eenadu is going all out against Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, if one goes by the Eenadu news daily.
This old man, who deceived his own co-brother (Dolphin Apparao) and many others during his lifetime to reach his present position, is leaving no stone unturned to defeat and defame Jagan Mohan Reddy, unmindful of his aging disorders.
The latest is the banner story of Ramoji Rao in his daily against Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday, bringing Jagan’s statement on the Bhogapuram airport when he was the opposition leader between 2014 and 2019.
Ramoji Rao played the opposition role in writing the story, and thus he uncovered himself as a media man. He is now a politician, and Eenadu is as good as a political party in Andhra Pradesh.
But what Ramoji Rao forgot is that when Jagan made a statement against Bhogapuram airport, there were fewer than half-a-dozen flights to Visakhapatnam and not even a hundred passengers on a daily basis.
Today, the situation is different, and there are at least 10 domestic flights and six international flights from Visakhapatnam every day.
The airport is under the control of the Navy and not an exclusive passenger airport to meet the increasing passenger footfall, particularly in light of the government converting the city into the executive capital.
In this changed situation, Bhogapuram airport is required now, and if Ramoji Rao fails to understand the changing needs, it only exposes his partial and biased approach.
Clearly, Ramoji Rao has this biased outlook. When Chandrababu Naidu laid a road around Rushi Konda in Visakha, Eenadu praised it and saw it as a necklace to the city. But when Jagan started the construction of some buildings, Ramoji Rao saw destruction of the environment.
Ramoji Rao is on the wrong side of his age. He should change his partial and biased look towards others, or else he would carry all the wrong credits when he starts his heavenly journey.
