Duvvada's midnight drama, attacks Dharmana

High political tension gripped Srikakulam district late on Friday night after former YSRCP senior leader and ex-MLC Duvvada Srinivas staged a dramatic protest at Nimmada Junction in the Tekkali Assembly constituency, alleging a conspiracy to kill him.

Appearing suddenly on the main road around midnight, Duvvada Srinivas issued open challenges to his political rivals and claimed that threats to his life were being made.

His statements and public confrontation created a stir across the district and triggered intense debate in political circles.

Addressing the gathering at Nimmada Junction, Duvvada alleged that there was a deliberate plot to murder him and claimed that he had been alerted by an individual named Appanna, who, he said, received information through a phone call from a person named Madhuri.  Readmore!

He announced that he would soon lodge a formal complaint with the Superintendent of Police regarding the alleged murder conspiracy.

In an aggressive tone, Duvvada declared that he was not afraid of death and dared his opponents to confront him openly.

“If you want to kill me, I am standing right here. I just returned from Hyderabad and I am ready for anything,” he said.

Questioning the state of democracy, he asked whether raising questions against those in power had now become grounds for murder.

Taking a dig at state agriculture minister K Atchannaidu and former YSRCP minister Dharmana Krishna Das, Duvvada referred to them sarcastically as the “KD Brothers,” accusing them of jointly degrading politics in Srikakulam district.

He alleged that despite belonging to rival political camps—one in the ruling alliance and the other in the opposition—the two leaders were working together to undermine democratic values.
