The Hyderabad police, with the assistance of the Eagle Team, have initiated a search operation to locate Aman Peet Singh, brother of popular actress Rakul Preet Singh in connection with the drug haul at Masab Tank in the city on December 17.
Two businessmen from Troop Bazaar, Nitin Singhania and Shrenik Singhvi were arrested for possessing drugs. The police seized 43 grams of cocaine and MDMA from the traders.
Interrogation of the arrested duo revealed that They had been supplying drugs to four regular customers, one of whom was identified as Aman Preet Singh who had purchased drugs from them. The police booked a case against Aman was named as an accused and is currently absconding.
Special teams from the EAGLE (Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement) unit and Masab Tank police station have launched an extensive manhunt to trace Aman Preet Singh.
Given the high-profile nature of the case and his connection to a well-known actress from both Tollywood and Bollywood, the investigation has drawn significant public and media attention.
In view of New Year celebrations, the EAGLE team has intensified surveillance and inspections across Hyderabad to curb drug abuse and trafficking. Police officials said multiple checks are being conducted at key locations to prevent the circulation of narcotics during the festive period.
Notably, Aman Preet Singh had previously been arrested by Cyberabad police in a drugs-related case last year. His alleged involvement in yet another narcotics case has now become a major talking point, raising concerns about repeat offenses and enforcement challenges.
Police officials have stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the absconding accused and that strict action will be taken against all those involved in the drug network.
