YSR Congress party on Saturday described Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s sudden visit to Delhi to give himself a clean chit in the attack on YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s life was a disgrace to his position.
YSRC leaders Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao said Naidu was only trying to save his skin and that of his coterie in the case of attack on Jagan.
“His cries before the Delhi media that there were attempts to destabilise his government following attack on Jagan looks absurd and meek. He sought to gain political advantage by taking it up before the media,” they said.
“Naidu saying that democracy is being threatened in the state is like devil chanting scriptures as it was he who had bought MLAs from the Opposition Party and had given even cabinet berths to some of them shamelessly besides charges of rampant corruption,” the YSRC leaders said.
Before speaking of Narendra Modi’s failures he has to set his house in order as to why he had gone back on the poll promises and did not secure the promises made in the State Reorganisation Act though he shared power with BJP for four years, they asked.
The Delhi trip was not to safeguard the interests of the state but to save his own skin and give a different picture to the Vizag airport incident, they said adding that YSRCP had also sought appointment of President and Union Home Minister and a Party delegation would soon visit Delhi to put the record straight.
