'Deepavali' Trailer: Raw, Rural, and Rustic

True-blue raw and rustic entertainers like Balagam are ruling the roost these days. Now, another film appears to be falling in this category and it is ‘Deepavali’.

The trailer for ‘Deepavali’ was unveiled by Ustaad Ram Pothineni today and it establishes an interesting rural tale revolving around a grandfather, his grandson, and a goat. It is interesting to see a goat being a central character.

The narrative in the trailer is gripping with star comedian Saptagiri giving voiceover for the goat' character. The drama and suspense surrounding the animal has whacky vibe.

Notably, ‘Deepavali’ was already sent for international film events and it received standing ovation at the International Film Festival of India, Goa and the 20th Chennai International Film Festival where it won Best Film and Best Actor awards. Readmore!

For rural dramas like these, the heart needs to be at the right place and with the trailer, ‘Deepavali’ implies that it falls under this category with its grounded narrative and rural atmospheric.

Poo Ramu plays the grandfather role in the film and we see a host of fresh and young talent in other lead roles.

It is directed by RA Venkat. ‘Sravanthi’ Ravikishore, regarded as one of the tasteful producers in Telugu cinema seems confident about ‘Deepavali’ which is up for release on the 11th of November. It is being released in Tamil also on the same day with the title ‘Kida’.
