Damodar, Yeleti looking up to BJP?

Bharatiya Janata Party is making all out efforts to cash in on the internal bickering in the Telangana Congress and lure potential Congress leaders into the saffron outfit.

A couple of days after former Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, who defected to the BJP in August this year, asked senior Congress leaders to join the BJP, another former Congress minister D K Aruna, who defected to the BJP two years ago, has reportedly had a telephonic discussion with two senior Congress leaders to lure them into the BJP.

According to sources, Aruna reportedly called up former deputy chief minister Damodara Rajanarasimha and former MLA from Nirmal Yeleti Maheshwar Reddy and held lengthy discussions with them.

She reportedly told them that the BJP would be the right place for seniors like them, if they want to take on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi government in Telangana. Readmore!

She said she had realised the futility of being in the Congress and hence joined the BJP to become its national vice-president.

While Rajagopal Reddy has been hinting that his elder brother and Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy would be joining the BJP sooner or later, the BJP leadership is trying to hold talks with some other strong leaders of the party.

Already, senior Congress leaders like former minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy and former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy joined the BJP.

“Many others are in touch with us. We cannot reveal their names at this stage,” a BJP leader said.
