Cops book SC/ST case against Sharmila

Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister and YSR Telangana party president Y S Sharmila, who has been making aggressive and controversial comments against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders, has now landed in some trouble.

The police at Jogipet in Andole assembly constituency registered a case under SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act against Sharmila based on the complaint of Dalit leaders of the TRS, for making derogatory comments against TRS legislator Chanti Kranthi Kiran the other day.

Addressing a meeting at Jogipet bus-stand as part of her Praja Prasthanam padayatra on September 30, Sharmila alleged that the MLA, being a Dalit, has been encroaching government and assigned lands.

She alleged that Kranthi Kiran's father himself had revealed that his son was involved in land grabbing activities. She slammed the MLA for not fighting to protect rights of Dalits and journalists.  Readmore!

Later, she also entered into an altercation with senior Congress MLA from Sangareddy T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy, who said her father YSR was responsible for the destruction of Telangana region.
