Controversial BJP MLA Quits Assembly!

Controversial Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Goshamahal constituency T Raja Singh on Sunday announced that he had resigned from his assembly membership.

Reason: He wants to continue his movement for the protection of cows and does not want it to be linked to his party.

“I submitted my resignation letter to state party president Dr K Laxman four days ago. I have decided to step my agitation against cow slaughter and I don’t want my agitation to be anyway associated to the party,” Raja Singh said.

Interestingly, he did not send his resignation letter to Telangana assembly speaker S Madhusudhanachary. It would mean he has left it to the discretion of his party president whether to send it to the Speaker or not. So, technically, Raja Singh continues to be the MLA. Readmore!

He told the media that he was prepared to go to any extent to prevent cow slaughter.

“Though I am against people taking law into their hands and killing those resorting to cow slaughter, I always believed that nobody would be able to stop such incidents as long as there are cow slaughter incidents in different parts of the country,” Raja Singh said.

He demanded that the government should immediately enact a legislation banning cow slaughter and declaring it as a crime.
