TDP chief is on the verge of losing his battle for Amaravati, his dream city. Though he did not build this city, he had marketed it and had greater plans for it as he had extensively campaigned all over the world during the last four years.
He had invested in the area and had made his men to invest. Believing in his leadership and the campaign, a number of small and potential investors have invested on the lands in Amaravati.
Now, with Jagan Mohan Reddy government planning to dilute Amaravati and make it one of the three capitals and not the only capital as campaigned by his predecessor Chandrababu Naidu, the fate of their investments hangs in balance now.
While losing these dreams, Chandrababu Naidu is worried about the possible loss of losing his MLCs who are facing the threat of abolition of the Legislative Council by Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
Even as Chandrababu Naidu celebrates his victory over Jaganmohan Reddy by referring the three capitals bill to a select committee in the Legislative Council, he is now spending sleepless nights on saving his MLCs.
The joy of victory and the celebration mood did not last long in the TDP as the government mooted the idea of dispensing with the Legislative Council.
One of the MLCs had already crossed the fence, while the others are now busy testing their time. Most of the TDP MLCs have their term more than 18 months from now and it is not wise for them to lose that power of being MLC.
They are reportedly lobbying with the government to drop the abolition idea and promise to be with the government by walking out of the TDP.
If the MLCs also walk out of the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu would be reduced to a small time leader in the AP politics.
More than a dozen MLCs from the TDP have reportedly given a green signal to the government to support its bills and request the government not to scrap the Council.
Smelling the mood of the MLCs, the TDP chief had assigned the task of saving the party and MLCs, to Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and K Atchennaidu.
The two former ministers and senior leaders are holding talks with the MLCs who are sitting on the fence.
However, it is just a matter of few hours for the Government to decide the fate of the Legislative Council, as the Cabinet and Assembly are scheduled to meet on Monday.
