After prolonged silence, founder-president of Andhra Intellectuals Forum and chairman of Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi (Forum for achieving special category status) Chalasani Srinivas is back in the news.
Apparently, Chalasani was worried that he could land in troubles following his close relations with Telugu actor Sivaji who is presently in deep soup over the controversy in popular television channel TV9.
On Friday, Chalasani sought to give clean chit to himself saying he had no connections whatsoever with Sivaji.
He made it clear that Sivaji was never a member of the Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi, but had only extended support to the movement for special category status.
“He attended a couple of meetings and we had taken only suggestions from him. Now, Sivaji does not have any connections with Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi,” he said.
Chalasani said any party that would come to power in the state after May 23 should extend “conditional” support to that coalition in the Centre on the special category status issue.
“It should support to only that coalition that granted special status to AP. It should also bring continuous pressure on the center,” he added.
He said that the Samithi would continue its fight till the special status to the state was achieved.
He requested that the new government should take all-parties into consideration in fighting for special status.
