Can Somu Veerraju bring those 3 Mandals to AP?

BJP AP unit president and former MLC Somu Veerraju had raised some questions to AP chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy during the party’s regional conference in Kurnool, the other day.

While most of the questions that he posed were all political, there was one question that leads a constitutional crisis.

He had referred to the three mandals in Telangana, which should have been merged with AP at the time of bifurcation in 2014.

It was only the BJP-led NDA government which had merged seven mandals from Telagana with Andhra Pradesh just before the appointed day, June 2, 2014.  Readmore!

The merger of these seven mandals made it possible for the AP to go for the prestegioius Polavaram project.

Now, with TS and AP fighting on sharing of Krishna river water, Somu Veerraju referred to three more mandals in Telangana which are to be merged with AP to avoid inter-state water disputes.

The BJP president said that Dummugudem, Charla and Vajedu mandals would have solved all major problems between the two Telugu states on sharing of river waters.

While referring to the present unrest between the two states over Krishna river water sharing, the AP BJP president wanted to know whether Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy would be able to get back those three mandals also to AP from Telangana.

But, the big question is transfer of the mandals or any portion of the area from one state to another state is in the hands of the Central government and the BJP is in power at the Centre.

Can Veerraju get this done using his influence before blaming anyone or asking votes from AP people?
