Can Naidu Dare Dissolve Assembly?

Whether one agrees or not, it is really a daring move on the party of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to dissolve the state assembly almost nine months ahead of the term and go in for early elections. It is definitely a calculated risk for him.

Now, the question is whether Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu can dare emulate his Telangana counterpart.

He wants to stick to his government till the completion of his full term, notwithstanding the allegations of corruption and inept administration being made by the opposition parties.

YSR Congress party on Friday threw a challenge to Naidu if he had the guts to dissolve the assembly and go for a snap poll as was done by KCR in the neighbouring Telangana state. Readmore!

“Naidu has been playing opportunist politics ever since he usurped power and Party from NTR and had swiftly and frequently switched sides unabashedly left, right and centre,” YSRC MLAs G Srikanth Reddy and Adimulapu Suresh said.

They said the TDP chief had been heavily dependent on some political party or the other as he always had no moral credentials to face the people and always fought elections with some alliance or the other.

“First he had a tie-up with BJP, then with Left parties, and was part of the Grand Alliance in which TDP was a part along with TRS and Left Parties while Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy led the 2009 elections on his own and emerged victorious.

In 2014 as well he tied up with BJP and Jana Sena which tilted the balance and now he has been shamelessly looking towards Congress which was instrumental in dividing the state and show his insecurity at the hustings,” they said.
