Can Mothkupalli get back his glory in BJP?

Senior Dalit leader and former minister Mothkupalli Narasimhulu, who has completely faded out of politics after coming out of the Telugu Desam Party, has at last found his political rehabilitation in the Bharatiya Janata Party.

On Saturday night, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy, along with state BJP president Dr K Laxman, met Mothkupalli in his residence and invited him into the party.

After a two-hour deliberations, the former TDP leader responded positively and would be joining the party in the presence of the national leaders at a big rally to be conducted at Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad on August 18. The meeting would be attended by BJP national president J P Nadda.

Till a couple of years ago, Mothkupalli had aspired to become the Governor of any state in the country, when his previous boss, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu had good terms with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government. Readmore!

However, his dreams got shattered after Naidu snapped ties with the BJP. Upset with this, Mothkupalli made strong comments against Naidu and that led to his expulsion from the party.

He had then suggested that it would be better of the TDP in Telangana was merged with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Later, Mothkupalli praised the TRS leadership, thereby sending feelers to TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, but he did not get any positive response from the party.

Frustrated at this, he contested the last assembly elections as an independent and lost miserably.

Now, he has got a chance to get back his glory, if the BJP gives him respect and positions in the party. Let us wait and see what is in store for him!
