Buzz: Actress Bought An Office For Rs 3.75 Crore

Mumbai: Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar, who recently joined the Shiv Sena after a short stint with the Congress, has bought office premises for Rs 3.75 crore in a posh commercial complex in Khar area.

The office space located at Durga Chambers on Linking Road, Khar West is considered to be a prime property in the western suburbs.

Durga Chambers is a ground plus-seven-storey structure. It has a glass façade. The office spaces for rent on higher floors range between Rs 5 and 8 lakh per month. The ground floor of the building is meant for commercial retail spaces.

According to those close to the deal, she paid Rs 36,000 per square feet. Matondkar bought the property from businessman Rajesh Kumar Sharma, who also owns another office in the building. Readmore!

According to real estate experts, the ready reckoner rate of the office space is a little over Rs 4 crore. She paid Rs 80,300 in stamp duty and Rs 30,000 for registration.

Matondkar had joined the Congress in March 2019. She contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North constitution on a Congress ticket, but lost to Bharatiya Janata Party’s Gopal Shetty.

A few months later, she quit the party, blaming some leaders in the party for indulging in ‘petty politics’. She said that a few Congress leaders did not help her in her election campaign.

After maintaining a low profile, Matondkar hogged limelight again in September over her spat with actor Kangana Ranaut who had criticised certain Bollywood actors and Mumbai police following the controversy over the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
