BRS takes it easy with Oppn unity against BJP

Even as 18 opposition parties across the country converged in Patna for a meeting to discuss the strategy to fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party unitedly, Bharat Rashtra Samithi led by K Chandrasekhar Rao has stayed away from it, saying such meetings won’t serve any purpose.

BRS working president and Telangana Industries and IT minister K T Rama Rao said there was no significance to the meeting of opposition parties in Patna.

“Today, the unity of political parties is not that important, rather it is important to unite people on the issues prevailing in the country,” he said.

KTR said both the Congress and the BJP were responsible for the problems our country is facing today. If political parties unite taking the BJP or the Congress along with them, it will not benefit the country, he said. Readmore!

The minister said the people wanted a non-Congress-non-BJP government at the centre.

“There is no difference between the Congress and the BJP. In fact, there were instances when these two parties also colluded with each other in Meghalaya and other states. Even in the last Lok Sabha elections, the Congress and the BJP joined hands in Karimnagar and Nizamabad to defeat the BRS,” he said.

KTR said the BRS would play a pivotal role in the national politics with Hyderabad as the Centre.

“We shall not hesitate to fight against the Centre if it goes against the spirit of democracy,” he said.
